ASSISTANCE, si vous plais:
Am switching from Linux Mint to a rolling distro and have selected PCLINUXOS with which I have just installed on an HP CPU with 12 Gigs of RAM and a 2TB HDD; the processor is an Athlon Quad-Core.
Unfortunately, it takes RPM rather than Deb files.
Question: how do I open a download of Media Center in this distro?
If I cannot easily install MC24, I'm so early in the new distro that I can replace it with a different rolling one.
Thanks,
tlcmd

I suppose you could try using the Fedora script found in this topic to see if it can build a .rpm file from the .deb file: https://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php/topic,115410.0.html
But don't be surprised if it doesn't work. If it indeed doesn't work, you may be out of luck with PCLinuxOS. I'd actually recommend Manjaro (https://manjaro.org/) as a replacement, as it's a rolling distro based on Arch Linux and a jriver-media-center24 package is available as a package in the AUR. Keep in mind though, it's unofficial (meaning it's maintained by a user and not JRiver) and it's not officially supported. But it does work pretty well. :)

You can use alien. See my note in the other thread you posted re: rolling distros.
