Title: alphabetizing artists by last name or without "The"
Post by: Davelozzi on March 13, 2015, 11:20:24 pm
I'm having trouble getting my library to sort artists under the right letter.  Right now, individuals are sorted by the first name (so Neil Young under "N" instead of "Y", and Dean Wareham under "D" instead of "W").  Bands with a "The" in their name are sorted under "T"; I want to see The Flaming Lips under "F" and The Who under "W".  In iTunes, this is easily remedied with the Sort Artist field, which still displays as "Neil Young" or "The Who" (rather than "Young, Neil" or "Who, The") but they alphabetize under "Y" and "W" respectively, which is how I want it.  Is there a way to do this in PonoMusicWorld?

There is an option to ignore articles (i.e. a, an, the, etc) when sorting. It's in the Options dialog, under 'Tree & View'.

Awesome, thanks!  Does anyone know if there is a way to sort solo artists by last name?
