Morning Guys, I am requesting the option to print Artist or Album Listing from the File, Print menu within MC21 please.
Another well known Application (iTunes) has this option in which the User have to choice of what layout to print by making a simple selection.
Could this request be investigated and implemented.
Thank you and regards

Tools > Advanced Tools > Disk Labeler
It is pretty old-school but still works. You can also copy-paste any track listing from MC into Excel (including visible fields in a Details File Listing), which can be useful in some cases.

Thank you guys - this is a bit useless as if we decide to print / copy&paste the complete library of 40000+ songs, 600+ artists it would require a lot of editing. Additional steps, wasting time etc. Agreed it allows al lot of versatility in info required but its not what I am requesting. Simply 3 or so steps to print selected artist/group by album listing the songs, like the other apps does.
PLease advise if tis function can be added?
Thank you

1. make a nice view that only has info you want in it (i use a name, artist, album, year, genre view)
2. select all the artists, albums, etc. whatever you want in the print list
3. file - export playlist - (selection only, visible fields only) to .csv file
4. open in excel, select data>remove duplicates>artist and album
5. delete the name column
now you have a nice list that contains whatever data you want and is a nice list of artist - album
i just made one in less than 2 minutes for all metal albums older than 1990...which other app does that may i ask?
ok it's 5 steps but considering the power you have to leverage the combined MC and Excel database (or html if you want)...

yep as Ferday pointed out create a Smartlist then Ctrl+A on files then File=>Export Playlist check option "only visible fields"). You can make it so its is one step after a smartlist is correctly formatted.
You can remove the steps by removing the dupes by track and choosing to show only the columns you want (if you want only albums). So very little messing around is needed. You can also export to HTML if you prefer. I have about 3 times what you are talking about. Listing all songs (120k+ for me) is very unwieldy you will have 1000s of pages. One thing to have an album inventory another to have a complete track listing. The trick is to set up a smartlist first ... then all you have to do is export it as CSV ... I do this by setting up different smartlists for major categories eg. Jazz, Pop/Rock; Electronic; R&B etc which reduces the number of pages ... export to CSV (one step) then save to PDF. If you have acrobat pro, you can combine multiple PDFs into an "album" and be able to search that way.
BTW, Adding too many visible fields (columns) will force you to have to go in landscape mode and further lengthen the document.
What would be cool though would be able to add a Thumbnail of cover art going directly to HTML

That's the long way. Change it to:
3. Right-click > Edit Commands > Copy
4. Open a new worksheet in Excel and Paste
If you copy a track listing to the clipboard in MC, it copies it in CSV format, which can be pasted directly into Excel.

You can copy and paste any view you can see (or create).

Morning - revisiting this request.
Please may I request adding the functionality of printing the artist listing from library or iPod as the function is within iTunes.
Note that I have requested this since Version 19 and request again to have this function added.
The suggested way of printing the list as per previous posts in the threat is time consuming and to many steps.
In my Library there are over 664 Artists with multiple albums and with multiple 160GB iPod's wanting to print / list the artists, the suggested method just is not viable.
Please requesting again that you look at the functionality as is the function in iTunes. ::)

You can select and copy from any view and paste into a spreadsheet.
Can you make a screenshot of what you want and attach it here?

Thank you Jim - see attached. Basically we request a file and print option to get this result.
Selected artist print list either from JRiver Library Artist view or iPod Artist View spread over landscape A4 page.
Thank you For your time on this.

Evening Jim, please may I have feedback on this request or when it will be implemented ?
