Title: JRiver and TIDAL(lossless) and Qobuz(lossless.FLAC) AND RID ME OF LAST.FM POPUP
Post by: bobbmd on October 02, 2016, 11:25:56 am
Is there any way to stream TIDAL(HiFi,lossless) and Qobuz(lossless,FLAC) via JRiver with a Mac Mini? If so please explain exactly how to do this-thanks.
Also how can I get that annoying popup for Last.fm to be gone from my life forever??
thanks bobbmd

I have no idea about streaming services support.

For LastFM, look at:

Tools > Options > Services > LastFM

You can probably disable it there by unchecking the check box and/or removing your account information.

Pretty sure you can't use/stream/route Tidal or Qobuz through MC on the Mac or Linux at all, since the WDM driver isn't present on the Mac/Linux platform.

How about in a Windows environment? Can I stream Tidal into JRiver? If so, how do I do that?

I'm loving Tidal on my phone, but hating not being able to use it on my music PC through MC.

Thanks!

Windows? Yes, using the WDM driver with Tidal's app.

I'm sorry to say that the WDM driver is only available in Media Center for Windows.

I've found a solution that I'm pretty happy with. I've posted the details here:

http://blog.dsnyder.ws-e.com/index.php/2016/11/19/streaming-tidal-via-jriver-convolution/ (http://blog.dsnyder.ws-e.com/index.php/2016/11/19/streaming-tidal-via-jriver-convolution/)

Essentially, it uses the JRiver's DLNA Renderer feature which is available in both the Windows and Mac builds.

Hi, this was really useful. I adopted the concept and actually used an iOS app called 'mconnect'(I used the free version). This is a UPNP/DLNA controller that can stream Tidal, or other UPNP servers of course, to your choice of renderer; so I chose media centre for mac installed on my iMac and it worked first time! Even better you can use the media centre DSP functions, so I upsampled the 44.1 stream to 88.2, magic !!
Thank you
Howard

I have just seen this post.

I already had Bubble.

Your instructions were perfect and I now have lossless streaming of Qobuz through JRiver on my Mac.

Many thanks.
