Title: Help with HDMI Atmos
Post by: Tobbeswim on March 10, 2022, 05:00:54 am
Hello,

I have a problem that came up with windows 11 (might be earlier but I do not know). I have a HTPC built around a Gigabyte z390 designare motherboard. I have a ASUS GeForce RTX 3060 Ti 8GB TUF GAMING gpu. The gpu is connected via HDMI to my Arcam 850. The Arcam is connected to both an LG TV and a JVC projector. I run a 7.2.4 system.

The problem I have is that Dolby Atmos will not work when I send it via HDMI bitstreaming. It worked before but now it does not. I have tried everything. I also know that I send it bitstreaming because DD+, DD and DTS is showing up on the amp.

I know it works because as soon as I send it bitstreaming via PLEX it works right away. Atmos symbol is showing up and things are working exactly as it shoud.
Please guide me in the right direction.

Best regards,

T

Try a Google search on the subject.  I'm not expert on it, but I believe compression is required if you use an HDMI connection.

It should just work fine if you have:
- Tools --> Options --> Audio --> Audio Device = Your NVIDIA card
- Tools --> Options --> Audio --> Settings --> Bitstreaming = HDMI

I have a 7.2.4 setup via a 1660Ti (to a Yami then to a JVC PJ) and I've never had any issue with this not passing ATMOS etc.
