Title: iPod could not be properly identified

I have downloaded Media Player version 13.  I want to add songs to my son's new nano iPod, but got the message:
Your iPod could not be properly identified.  Please check for updated version of Media Center. YM837D1K3R0 1452 4707.

How do I do this?
