Title: Export a view as html?
Post by: 8139david on January 25, 2016, 02:19:43 pm
Given any view, it should be easy to export it as an html page with the exact same parameters (showing the thumbnails as they look in the view).
Is there a way to do that in JRiver, or not?
(Export a playlist as html doesn't even export the thumbnails on windows...)

I don't think there is.  But what are you trying to accomplish?

Brian.

I agree that would be nice to export thumbnails with a list-- I suggested this before so I'll +1 this a a feature request.  Not so sure it would be as easy as you think, though. And if it wasn't format-able might be hard to use in practice (I have 7600 albums, 1album per line would be one long and unreadable HTML document. If it was exactly the same as in a category view, as you suggest that would still be a huge file

Export any view, like the one attached. Why should it be hard?

The idea is to share a given view with your friends, possibly uploading online.
Then your catalog (of movies say) would be browsable using the html pages generated.

It cannot be that complicated, since there is a nice program for doing something similar with Calibre for ebooks, namely Calibre2opds:
http://calibre2opds.com/about/
https://github.com/calibre2opds/calibre2opds

OK, I may well ask for too much flexibilty when asking to turn any View into a browsable catalog online (html).
But at least for a few standard views, it should be easy.

And my original question was without the browsing: just create an html page that looks like what you get on your screen in a given view (except that it generates the whole page, not only what appears on the screen).

Sorry only have the time for a quick response, web gizmo generates that. You may be able to mod it to add more info other than name and possibly other non default views.

http://localhost:[Your Port]/Gizmo/library.html

The files are located here if you wish to customise it (Just backup the default folder)
C:\Program Files (x86)\J River\Media Center 21\Data\Library Server\Gizmo\Default
