I use MC32 on Linux Mint 21.3 XFCE running (walking?) on an ancient (circa 2012 Pentium cpu, 4gb memory) system and it's responsiveness is fine.

If you are seeing such awful response times with your hardware, then something is very wrong. I would suggest creating a small test library using a few files on a local fast disk and turn off autoimport, if this is fine, then investigate what is causing the problem(s) in your main library.

Try setting the screensaver to black screen and disable the screen sleep in Windows. It's not ideal as the screen stays powered on, but it works. On my LG TV I can turn the image off while keeping the sound, so I sometimes do that.
Adding a PCIe/USB sound card should also work, as you mention.

That's an excellent example of lateral thinking. A blank screensaver does the job very well :):)

An HDMI dongle doesn't help because the audio is still going via the other HDMI output, which still gets put to sleep.

What other HDMI output do you mean? I only have the one on my GPU card.

I did receive and appreciate a reply on my upgrade and now understand that I do not need to upgrade to a master license as both laptops are windows OS and that I do not need to install an old version. I did restore my licence today and am told to follow the instructions in the first post. Not sure where to find this I have enough trouble trying to post a question and then finding it again to see if there is an answer. Perhaps you mean upgrade instructions from Nov 13th?, if so I don't know if I need to restore, install? I love JRiver but it is so much harder than it should be to work with. For non-computer nerds the instructions are hard to follow and that is if you can find them. There ends up being a lot of guesswork involved if you are not familiar with the terminology. It took me a long time with MC22 and 25 and I hoped I would not have to go thru it again. If more complete answers were given I'm sure it would greatly cut down the repeat queries. I just purchased the MC32 upgrade and am really confused about "what my next step should be". Can someone please steer me in the right direction, I kind of need step by step instructions then I will not bother again. MC25 is currently working on my old HP laptop and I am trying to add MC32 on my new Acer then upgrade the MC25 to MC32 on the HP. Thanks

Is it possible for someone to repair the Purity Skin? The section for Cloudplay is completely unreadable. This issue only occurs with this skin.

Hello, I appreciate your thoughs on ways to configure JRiver and/or windows in order do accomplish the best possible signal to my projector.

I currently have windows setup as 4:4:4 12bit 23hz, so that I can fully benefit from Jrivers chroma upscaling capabilities - this works just fine for the vast majority of the movies which are 24fps. When I play the (rare) movies which are 60fps, JRiver/Windows changes the HDMI output signal to 4:4:4 8bit 60hz, so I am losing the 10bit resolution from the original UHD-HDR files.

Please, does anybody know if it would it be possible to have a different configuration for 60fps(60hz)? I would like for the system to change to 4:2:2 12bit 60hz instead of keeping 4:4:4 and reducing bit depth to 8.

No need to install an old version.  You just need the old license.

If both computers are the same OS family (Windows or Mac, for instance), a Master License isn't needed.

Please follow the instructions in the first post.

I'm a VLSI developer, not a software guy, but I went googling around for interesting tidbits.  I found the topic being discussed on github for the FireBase software development kit...  Bob is no doubt already aware of all of this!

Ok I used to fix this somehow changing something in game optimiser in lg setting and also nvidia panel, I used to use diable gsync and also activating oled moiton pro...and then it was fixed...so when I set picturemode to filmaker it would stay on filmmaker all the time...weather I play a movie in jriver or vlc or not. there is some setting combination that fixed this earlier. but I seam to not find it out now or it does not work anymore.

This could be a system problem and yet again a new fresh installation of windows is needed.
