Title: Sync Weirdness
Post by: al1947 on December 05, 2020, 02:37:12 pm
Having issues syncing to a folder on an external drive that I have set up as a "handheld." (This is to provide content that I can then transfer via other tools to an Android DAP; necessary because of the minimal support for Android on the Mac.) Using JRMC27 (27.0.35; 64-bit).

As you can see from the screenshots, MC is showing phantom duplicate instances of my music (without cover art icons). The Finder screenshot makes it clear that there are no such duplicates in the folders.

Also, have had the problem of deleting a song from the folder, but JRMC27 still shows it as "on device."

Fixes???

Also having similar sync frustrations with MC27 on Mac (I'm guessing same happens on other versions since I've encountered on them in previous versions).

Duplicates when there aren't
Have the checkbox set to delete files that aren't in sync but they don't get deleted on re-sync

Any help on this?..

Also, one of the playlists I'm using to sync has over a 1,000 music files but after synching to an Android portable (Fiio M11), the songs in the playlist only total around 650.

Synching to handhelds just feels inconsistent and broken sadly.

Not all filetypes may be supported by your player.

You can edit the list of supported filetypes in Handheld options.

JimH

But what about the phantom duplicates problem?

If you show hidden files in Finder, does Finder then display anything corresponding to the duplicates that MediaCenter lists?
