Title: iOS app
Post by: Osho on July 30, 2020, 01:05:19 pm
Hi,

This is probably asked before. I hope it is not a duplicate.

Is there a plan to do iOS app during MC27 time?

Thanks,
Osho

JRemote for iOS already exists. A "full" Media Center for iOS is not very likely due to the limitations of the platform.

Thanks Hendrik for the response. I bought it - is there audio local caching for streaming? Often, one may be where the connection is poor/drops/non-existent.

No, JRemote for iOS (as far as I know) nor JRemote2 for Android supports local caching. Only remote that does as far as I know is Gizmo for Android.

Is this on the roadmap? Without this, this app is not very usable in many cases (e.g. while flying etc.).

download/local caching would be a nice feature.   as someone who (until covid) travels a lot, i am not about to attempt or pay for wifi in a plane to stream from my server :)

would be nifty feature to download a playlist or individual track and play from local storage

audio or video.

It used the subscription model when it was first released, but it has been a one-time purchase app for quite a while now.
