I use Gizmo primarily in Playing Now mode. Yesterday I noticed that the screen no longer shows what is playing, just Gizmo art instead of cover art, 5 stars, [playing 1], [Playing 2], then control icons. It is doing this on both my Galaxy S4 mini and my Nexus 7.
Any suggestion? Before yesterday, everything was fine.

Ps. All control functions work, I can view library, etc. Also, I don't think Theater view functions properly, but I have never used anyway...

My Galaxy Tab2 just starting doing this as well. Also the progress bar does not progress.

I've been looking into this, but on my devices it works properly.
Can you maybe test with this version? I added a few safety checks around recent feature additions, which seems like the only logical place it might get stuck.

I uninstalled Gizmo on my tablet and installed this version. No change in behavior. Is there any more info I could supply from this end that may help?
Android versions - 4.4.2 and 4.2.4
MC versions - 15.x and 19.x
Windows 7

Does this only happen if you're remote controlling MC, or also when playing on the device?

playing on device works normally. Only ....
Hey! When I switch back to playing to server, it works! Good accidental fix!

A little more info.
I have reinstalled stock app. The work around of playing to device FIRST works there as well, however this step must be completed each time app is restarted.
My two cents, but it looks like a service of some sort is not being launched automatically for playing now to server.

Are you playing a maybe extremely long playlist or something like that? Or just normal albums or small playlists?

Mostly ~2k song playlist. Let me try a smaller one and see what happens.

Ok, I have restarted gizmo and loaded a 97 song playlist. No change in behavior.

It doesn't stay fixed. Same problem here as everyone else. Using Motorola Droid RAZR MAX. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling several times as well as clearing all the data, all without success. Switching from "Server" to "Here" and back does restore it for a while (a day or two?). I keep a long Now Playing list, currently ~7900 long. I'm using Gizmo strictly as a remote to play music on the server.

I think I may have found it, but before I publish a new version officially, anyone want to test and confirm (or deny) if it works now?

Visit the link from a browser on your phone. In order to install it, you have to tell Android to allow installation from unknown sources. Try an Internet search for more information.
