Where is JRiver getting its Bit Depth info from? I ask because I have a CD I ripped to JRiver now showing two tracks at 24-bit, while the other 14 are 16-Bit. Didn't know an album can have mixed Bit depths?

BTW, I also have a vinyl album I recorded to CD and ripped that CD to in JRiver and it now reads as 24-bit. So, how is JRiver determining what files are 24 and what are 16 bit???

I guess this is also baffling to the developers. Or am I asking a trade secret question?

Check in the Tag Widow to see if those 2 24 Bit Tracks are HDCD Tracks. It is not unknown for HDCD Tracks and Non-HDCD Tracks to be on the same CD.
