If you would like to update from MJ8 or MC10, please make sure you have first installed the old program and that is correctly licensed.  Otherwise, you will not receive the special upgrade price.

Then install MC11 and purchase the upgrade from the Help section of the program.  Double check the price you are shown before completing the purchase.

Notes:  When you install MC11, the program will recommend that you uninstall MC10.  A backup of your data is advisable before uninstalling.  The data is contained in the jmd files, and for MC10, you'll find them in, for example, C:\Program Files\JRiver\MediaCenter10\Data.  You may also want to back up the directory containing your cover art.  You can find this by viewing MC10's Options\File Locations.

That is a nice post.  One thing I wanted to do before I went and upgraded to 11.1 (but I got too lazy and just decided to do it anyway) was to go through all of the old build threads, or at least most of them, and compile a "Master Changes List" and post it.

I remember back when I switched from 9 to 10 someone (maybe Marko?)  had done just that and it convinced me to upgrade.  Sometimes it's not even the big things, but the little tiny changes that make it worth it.  (For example, this time for me it's the confirmation when drag-dropping to the tree.  Tiny, but huge.)

Too bad I'm too lazy.   ::)

How do you manage this? I do not see an alphabet index.
Sorry for my ignorance, it's the first day i test MC11.1 on a test machine

It was Gamer. I don't know if he has done it now, but I have followed his example and kept a change log:
MC 11.1 Change Log (http://kotisivu.mtv3.fi/alexb/pix/MC11.1_change_log.txt).

I decided to make a little experiment. I'll start a new thread for the log and add the MC builds in reverse order, so anyone can post new builds there. Let's see how it turns out.

EDIT

The change log is here: http://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php?topic=31545.0

An impressive display of non-laziness Alex.  Great work!

It's a view options.  Right click on the view scheme and edit.  Or in the Edit menu, choose "Reset all view schemes" which gives you the default views.

I can't see an otption for the alphabetic index in the view scheme. After a reset of all view schemes, the alphabetic index is not there. All the other things look like your picture, it's just the index which is missing...

Ya, it was me.... I stopped doing it when I stopped being able to log into my website that my ISP gave me. When I called my ISP they said that they do not support problems with the website....   :'(

If anybody wants to view the others:

I have V10 Complete   http://www3.sympatico.ca/imjustagamer/MC10His.txt
11 upto 11.0.201 (2/28/05)      http://www3.sympatico.ca/imjustagamer/MC11His.txt

I'll start doing it again once I have a new website.... I just don't know if I want to spend the $$ yet.....

Thanks Alex, I really do like to see the version lists.... It kinda neat to see how the program has evolved.

Uwe

On the upper right corner of the view header, there's an "Options" Menu. Click or hover your mouse over it and enable "Show Alphabet".

Hope it helps.

Fret,

You need to have 9.1 installed and registered. Then install MC11.1, and go  Help and Purchase.
You should see the upgrade price then

imjustagamer,
thanks for your response; that's exactly what I did but it says '40' bucks...
Should I have to enter my 9.1 Reg-Code somewhere?

Actually this should be easier for the user since this is confusing for some users.

It should be go to the

Buy page

[Buy Now] Buy MC11
[Buy Now] Upgrade To MC 11

When I user Select "Buy Now"

It should ask for his MC10, MC9 Code, E-mail Address, And What Ever Else

And then Offer The Product at that Price If the user qualifies.

Once the user buys Take That Code Out Of The Database so it can not be bought again with that old registration code.

and then registers the users MC

this would be the Ideal way for users I would think.

Are you sure MC9 was registered?
Did you uninstall MC9 After it was Registered? (Maybe Not A Good Idea If You Did)
How Did You Go To The "Buy Page" to get MC11
Direct At The Web Site Or thru The Help Tab in MC11?

I have never seen this not work if done in the correct order.

So, finally I got it:
Instead of 'Buy' I had to check the 'Restore'-Button and then, when asked from what, I
typed in my 9.1 Reg-Code. After that I was told, that this is an old key and if I want to upgrade...that's the procedure!

Thanks for your all response, I'm now waiting to be a happy 11.1-user 'cause I loved the 9.1 release with it's sensitive toolbars etc. but the discussion about that is long time gone.
I'll now do a totally clean install and hope I can take some of the important settings over to 11.1 - after that I hope I find the time for discovering all the thousands of new features and finally for resuming my iconwork that I did for 9.1 and adapting the WinDoze theme again for my needs...

Best regards
