Title: Background images in theatre view.
Post by: johngal on June 18, 2014, 04:07:20 pm
Hi,

I’ve just upgraded from MC17 and now the background images MC uses when playing audio are no longer full screen.
This may mean 17 used to zoom them but I’d much rather that than bars down either side.
I've looked for an option and did a forum search but I can’t find a fix.

Can anyone please point me in the right direction?

Thanks

John

Do you mean in Theater View > Playing Now, or somewhere else?

The Theater View images are full screen for me.

The images shown in the background are downloaded from the Internet.  You can customize where you're willing to let images come from in Options > Theater View > Theme > Online media slideshow.  They will have varying aspect ratios.

Yes I’ve found that option looking around for a ‘resize image’ button somewhere.
I’ve attached to screen shots which hopefully show the problem.
Scratch that I can't, too big apparently!

Also but not really an issue I did disable google as a source in 19 because it was coming up with jungle scenes understandably, though this never happened in 17 with it selected?

Thanks
John

Lets try .jpg then...

Hope that makes it a bit clearer. (If not as scalable).

I think your screenshots are showing two different images downloaded from the slideshow location.  One looks better than the other I agree.

Is there any way to check that, I think it’s definitely the same image!
Either way what should MC do, zoom or display as is and if the latter is there any way to make it zoom the images as your right it does look way better like that?

Thanks

Notice that one image has a floor and the other doesn't.

Oh the floor it there ok, just out of frame in the zoomed image!

I’ve uploaded another example, now there no fire hydrant in the 17 version but I say it’s the same image.

Regardless of that I can’t remember ever seeing a 4:3 image in 17, (can’t be 100% sure though to be fair), but get them all the time now in 19.

Is there a way to make 19 behave as 17 does or should I just go back to using 17?

Thanks
John

Hi,

I’m back using MC17 as MC19 just looks rubbish.
This isn’t ideal.

Anyone with any ideas as to why 17 only display 16:9 images yet 19 doesn’t?  (Regardless of if I think there the same image zoomed out or not).

Thanks
John

Looks like the same image, only Media Center is zoomed in on one, and displaying the full image for the other.

I don't know how you grab images from Google, but you are able to specify an aspect ratio on the website.
