My wife and I were very proud Wednesday afternoon to come home with a new friend in tow.

That's our new daughter meeting one of our cats, Fern, for the first time. Our black lab, Chloe, was decidedly disinterested (once it was determined that the carseat did not contain and could not provide food, of course). I'm sure they'll be best buds before too long.
For now, obviously, I may be MIA here and there as I have some new duties to attend to, but rest assured, I'll still be lurking about. Who knows? Maybe some day she will herself come here to ask "the dog"* a question about something or another in her dad's wacky AV setup.
* My wife often refers to all of Interact as "talking to the dog" (Matt's avatar being the dog in question). This is typically used when something in MC (with which she is surprisingly skilled) doesn't work right for her, and I am instructed to "tell the dog" about the problem. Usually something like: "if you're going to be talking to the dog so much, you might as well tell him to fix" such-and-such, or "hmmm... the dog needs to know about this", or maybe "tell the dog I said this is <expletive deleted>" if it is a particularly nasty one. This is, of course, despite her knowing full-well what Interact is, and where J River is located, and who JimH and marko and Alex B all are. I catch her reading from the other room when I have Interact up on the HTPC all the time.

Excellent advice. With children and growing up, time doesn't just go fast, it goes really fast!!
You guys will have fun, remember to sort Anika out with a brother to grow up with! Mrs glynor will say 'never again', but don't worry, they all say that, even after the third or fourth time :)

Congrats on your new addition.......As I slug down coffee after my own little princess had us up all last night with a throw up bug.....It is funny how before I had a child I was grossed out by such things...I am now officially immune to anything like puke, poop, and snot.....THAT IS TRUE LOVE. She is truly the best thing that ever happened to me by a country mile. Enjoy the ride as the last 18 months have went by like the snap of your fingers. :D

By the way, how old will she be when you provide the crib mounted remote so she can control the tunes in the Baby Zone?
