Title: Corrupt File Found on Pono Internal HD, Won't Mount
Post by: ohno on February 22, 2020, 08:05:09 pm
Hello BetaMax users,

I have a Pono that I enjoy(ed) using. A recent transfer of music had a file that must have been corrupted in some way.

When I turn on the Pono, after the loading screens and scanning the hard drive, I get a message that says:

Quote
Corrupt File Found
A corrupt file has been found during the PonoPlayer's media scan:

/mnt/internal/Music/[band/song name].m4a

Reconnect your PonoPlayer to your computer and enter Music Transfer Mode. Clear any potentially corrupt files off of your PonoPlayer storage.

The problem is that this error prevents the Pono from being mounted as a drive. This goes for Macs (my main computer) or Windows machines.

The dialogue can't be dismissed. The only options are to shutdown or cancel - these only are available after holding the power button.

I emailed their support team previously. The only option they had was to buy a replacement device.

Does anyone know how to get around this issue?
