Title: Can a tag / field for "Last sync" be created?
Post by: macdonjh on January 16, 2019, 05:19:01 pm
Is it possible to create a tag/ field that keeps track of the date a file was last synced to a hand held, similar to the stock tag "Last Played"?  What would the logic look like?

I'd like to renew my request that the "Last Played" tag be editable by the user (at least, I cannot enter a date in that tag).  Or, can another tag for "Last Synced" be created?

I'd like to use that as a rule for Smartlists for syncing my portables: "only songs which haven't been played or synced within the past X days".

Good idea in my opinion.

Coming to MC27:
NEW: Added the library field "Last Sync" that gets set when a file is synced to a handheld.

Thanks again.

Excellent.  Thank you, Matt.  I started looking through the New and Corrections list for MC27, but got tired of reading before I saw that.  I guess I'll have to update to MC27 now.

I just wanted to thank those on the MC Mac team for adding the new Last Sync tag.  I just upgraded to MC27, updated my library and revised my relevant SmartLists to take advantage of the new feature.  I may not have been the only one to request it, but I did request it, so thank you.

I think the new tag will help minimize the time it takes me to create "juke box" SmartLists with songs I haven't heard in a period of time.  I don't want to hear the same songs over and over.  If I wanted that I'd only have three albums in my library.  :)
