Title: JRiver Id Compatibility with Yamaha ESS 32-bit DAC
Post by: georgmr on October 10, 2017, 02:12:30 pm
I recently bought a Yamaha S-801 and I want to buy a JRiver Id to utilize the USB input for the ESS ES9010K2M DAC chip built into the amp.  My concern is the Yamaha reference to the Yamaha Steinburg USB driver which is only available for Windows and MAC but not Linux.  Will the Id implementation of JRiver MediaCenter work correctly and allow me to use the full DSD and PCM capabilities of the ESS Sabre chip?

Thank you,
Mark

I don't know.  Sorry.  You could ask Yamaha if it works on Linux without a driver.  They might know.

It looks like it works with Linux (without a driver).
