Title: Connecting to MC13 Libary Server with a PC (with its own TV Card)?
Post by: badger on February 05, 2009, 09:55:22 am
I thought I'd ask here before I tried this......  Here's what I'd like to do.

PC #1 will house my master MC13 library and DB.

PC#2 (with TV card) will connect to the MC library served up by PC #1.  I'd like to utilize MC13's TV (EPG) functions on PC #2 to schedule, record...and maintain the "my recordings" list.

Seems like this would entail two libraries, but I'm wondering if there's some way to make this setup work.  My main goal is to only maintain one library (on PC #1).  I'm thinking of setting up the TV shows to record to the main server's (PC #1) "auto import" folder.  Hope my explanation makes sense.

Thoughts anyone?

It look like this will work as long as I have the default library (PC #2) active while recording TV.  Then switch back to Library server on PC #1.

PC #2 will always try importing recorded shows into the default local library.

The server PC will be able to import the shows but it will have not some metadata - Artist (TV channel name), Genre ("TV Recordings"), Description (description from EPG, if available).
