Title: installing on win 8.1 but hangs [solved]

i have had to reinstall win8.1 but now i can't get mc19 to install. first thing it does is start to download directX components from server and doesn't seem to get any progress... just hangs. any suggestions?

Welcome.

You could download and install the component manually:
http://files.jriver.com/dependencies/d3dx943.exe

Or make sure you don't have a program blocking internet and try installing again.

i disabled norton internet security and everything worked fine. i don't remember doing that before but hey, i'm happy now, thank you
