Title: continue playback in other zone
Post by: Tigger on December 19, 2016, 08:28:56 pm
Hi,

is there a way to switch zones and continue the current playback in the destination zone ?

regards

There's no automatic way, but here's a procedure you can use to do it:

1.  Right click on the DESTination zone and choose Link Zone.  Link it to the Zone that's playing now.
2.  Wait for it to sync up and play in both zones at once.
3.  Right click on the zone again and choose Link Zone > Break Link.
4.  Now both zones are playing at the same time, but they aren't linked any more.  Both have a full copy of Playing Now.
5.  Click on the SOURCE zone (the original).  Now press stop.  Playback should stop in the original zone, but continue in the DESTination zone.

Hi Brian,

thank you so much for that solution.

But... does anyone else wonders why this isnīt possible via one click (local / remote).
MC is so powerful and I didīt expect to find anything that isnīt possible.

One of my daily scenarios:
Iīm in my office room and when finishing work and go to bed, I want to take the current playback with to my bedroom. I could stop and start the current song but itīs kind of complex to "find" the current artist, album, song in the other zone. At least I wish to take the current view of songs to the new zone (like pinning it).

I agree. It's one of the usability parts of JRiver I wish was better.
