Title: PMW and external USB hard drive scanning issue
Post by: Markbot on February 17, 2015, 02:02:30 pm
Hello,

I have PMW set to scan an external 4TB USB3 hard drive connected to the Windows 7 PC where PMW is installed. This is the only drive I have set PMW to scan. The drive is identified as G: and the volume name is PONO1. The problem is that sometimes I don't have that USB drive connected to the PC and I will plug in a different USB hard drive with music files on it. Windows identifies the "new" drive also as G: and PMW starts scanning it even though PMW is not open. This creates a mess with my PMW music library. Twice now I've wiped my library and started over.

What is the best way to fix this and prevent it from happening again?

Thank you for your help.

Mark

Do you have "auto-import" configured to only import from the "G:\PONO1\" folder?  Unless your other drive also has a "PONO1" folder on it, it shouldn't touch it.
