If you're thinking about purchasing for the first time, or upgrading from an older version, now is the best time.
No matter what you buy, you will receive a license for JRiver Media Center 29. It will work now with MC28.0.105 or higher and it will also work with MC29 when early builds are available around April 1.
For new purchases, just download (https://jriver.com/download.html) and install MC28 from our Download Page.
For upgrades, please read this:

Hi, I just purchased upgrade this afternoon, then downloaded MC28 and after seeing this evening's email tried using the MC29 license but it isn't working - "your license file is not valid for Media Center. Do I want to purchase an upgrade?" ... so it's still a trial, which is fine though it'll run out before MC29 is available probably? - on MacBook Pro. Any advice?
Thanks-
Ruth

You may need a newer build of MC28.

Install the latest build of MC28 28.0.105
If you have that version and are still having issues getting the license installed try this (from the wiki)
