Title: MCTV and Gizmo transcoding Question???
Post by: adlelare on February 01, 2015, 12:56:36 pm
JRiver staff, a question...transcoding MCTV video files for serving to Gizmo devices (most are wireless (phones/tablets) but some are wired (Minix, etc.) when it is done simultaneously for mutliple (e.g. 3 streams) seems very CPU intensive (often 10-30 sec of 100% load) and i suspect causes freezing etc....i have my devices typically set for high resolution on Gizmo and so my question is is transcoding effected by the "quality" of the video file being transcoded to or is it more just the act of transcoding to any level of quality... and if it is related to "quality" as most Android devices are now multi-core and much more powerful than even a few years ago, is it possible to have a much higher quality level, so as to do less transcoding...regards
