Title: Can't change disk letters in JRiver 22.0.32
Post by: mgreg123 on November 20, 2016, 01:11:09 pm
Hi,
I had to change the drive letters on my computer but couldn't find a way to change them in JRiver? In the options sections I find where there located but can't change them any suggestions? If I reinstall JRiver will it automatically correct the file locations?

Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Michael G

Do you want to tell MC that you have moved all of your files to an new drive letter?  Like you moved your music from E:\Music to G:\Music or something similar?

If so, you want to use the Rename, Move, and Copy Files tool.  Use it in UPDATE mode with the Find and Replace template.

First, I would backup your library. Just in case you make a mistake.

Also, Test it on one file before doing it on all your music.

Select the files you want to change the drive letters for.
Press F6 key.
On the top left is a drop down list. Select, Update database to new location (no file rename, move, or copy)

MAKE SURE the following is unchecked.
   Directories
   Filename

Check Find & Replace
in Find What: enter your old drive letter (i.e. c:\)
in Replace With: enter new drive letter (i.e. d:\)

Press OK button

This worked well for files, but when I tried an SACD ISO (w/o external CUE) it failed.  If there's advice on doing this properly then I'll try that first.  If this is supposed to work for ISO then I'll give details on exactly how it failed.

BTW
My goal is to merge 2 drive letters into a single larger drive, and the only reason I don't want to use import is because that means I'll reset all my attributes (ex: ratings) for CUE sheet albums.  These are mostly SACD ISOs, but I have multitrack FLAC and WAV also.
