Title: 4 g iPod running5.1.1 what am I supposed to be able to do?

 ? Tried to sync ,fail, not found went to options >handheld > redirect  nothing .I'm running mc 17 . Do I need itunes on this pc also?
I understand this apple stuff doesn't seem to play well with mc But I don't have a clue on how to get anywhere with this now .I do have another pc with itunes so i can do that . If anyone could direct me to some instructional info that would be greatly appreciated

Thanks , will try when I am brave/stupid  enough to update to a version that is listed there . Till then will use another PC w/ iTunes. I like the images on MC17 a lot .
