Title: Plug-ins?
Post by: plkx on December 08, 2017, 04:23:52 pm
Hello Everyone,

I'm recently checking out MC as an alternative to itunes, and so far, I am pleasantly surprised.

I have perused much of this forum and googled a bit, but find very little on plug-ins.

Are external plug-ins still relevant for MC?

It seems the built in plug-ins provide some of the core functionality (e.g. encoding), but I have not found a plug-in that I can load on MC 23.0.83.

Is this because the plug-ins are all rather old (circa 2013 or earlier), not for the Mac version, all of the above, or, is something not working right with my installation?

So far, I have not found anything to be malfunctioning, so this would be the first instance with MC.

Regards,

PK

I believe the plug-ins available are for Windows.  The page needs to be updated.

What are you trying to do?  Plug-ins may not be needed?

Mostly, just exploring to see what MC can do.

I noticed a plug-in with equalizer functions. It's from ~2012, and downloads as 817.zip, which unzips to an exe file - a Windows plug-in as you suggested.

For Macs, I'm guessing anything relevant will be a front end for Apple AUs - right?

In any case, I'm content to explore the DSP Studio tools in MC, for now.

PK

Yeah, they're Windows plugins. I'm not aware of any Mac or Linux plugins, besides a couple VST plugins for Mac and Linux.
