Hi, I am experiencing the following issue on GIZMO installed on a SGS-II: songs are no longer displayed. I’ve already tried to reinstall both JRiver and Gizmo several times with no results, on two different computers. I think the network configuration is ok since I can find the library tracks by searching on gizmo, and in this last case I can even start playing them on the server. This issue probably started after last automatic update of JRiver.
Thanks for answers.

i have the same problem with the same phone, after the last update of gizmo
-
Same here, using android 4.0.3
No playlist no tracks
Cheers

I have the same problem with the ASUS transformer TF300T after updating Gizmo. Several users in the google play store also mention the problem.
-
Same with me on my Huawei android phone. The stuff should work on a solution.

I have the same problem with Galaxy S 2 and Asus Pad. Both have Android 4. Please test your updates better.

I have the same problem (after automatic update of Gizmo) with Samsung Galaxy Tab 7" / Android 2.2. At the moment there is no possibilty to play music.
Thanks for a solution!
My system: MC 17 (latest version) on a small audio-PC (Win7 32.Bit) in my living room which is directly connected to a DAC (Toslink). The PC has no mouse, keyboard or monitor. The music is stored on the audio-PC (no streaming). LAN connection by WIFI. MC is solely operated by Gizmo. I use a second PC in my workroom for ripping (file exchange using a network drive) and maintainance of the Audio PC (using Teamviewer). Gizmo is installed on a Galaxy Tab 7” / Android 2.2.

Hello
I have the same problem. I have tested with JRiver Version 17 and 15. The same results. I don't see the tracklist for "flac"-files. For the type "m4a"-files I see the tracklist with gizmo version V17.0182
I have updatet my Sony Ericsson XPERIA Arc with the newest Androide version.
So I think that this is a issue of the Gizmo-App. :)
Greetings from Germany

Same here (latest Gizmo on HTC Legend-Android 2.2): no content appears after selecting an album. Rebooting the phone, re-selecting the server, re-starting MC all did not help.
Playing the album is possible by long-pressing it, and then selecting 'Play'.
-
Same problem on Google Phone Nexus and a Tablet Made in China, the problems created since the last update of Gizmo and / or JRiver.

Same here (latest Gizmo on HTC Legend/Android 2.2): no content appears after selecting an album. Rebooting the phone, re-selecting the server, re-starting MC all did not help. There's several Gizmo users reporting this problem in http://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php?topic=73557.0
I would be happy to downgrade to Gizmo's previous version - can it be made available for download?
-
Downgrade would be wonderful!

I have the same problem with Galaxy S 2 and Asus Pad. Both have Android 4. Please test your updates better.
The problem may only be on Android 4.0. We're looking at it.
-
I think the no menu problem may happen when the phone runs out of memory when trying to display a long list.
What happens if you look at small lists, like 10 or 20 items?
-
I'm on Android 2.2
The problem occurs with every album I try, most of which are below 20 tracks, and one even has only 1 track which does not appear either.
Force-closing memory eaters and re-starting Gizmo afterwards didn't help either.
Hope this helps you tracking down the bug!

What happens if you switch Windows to a US locale?
We're wondering if the problem is that Gizmo now requests the duration, and if the duration uses a comma instead of a dot for the decimal, it might make the Java code in Gizmo unhappy.
Thanks for helping.
-
BINGO! After switching my locale as you suggested, restarting MC, tracks appear as they used to.
Good thinking Matt!
-
Sorry for the problem.
We'll try to get a fixed Gizmo uploaded later today.
-
There's a fixed version here:
http://jriver.com/install_gizmo.html
We'll remove the link above once the new build is available in the market (hopefully later today).
-
The NEW VERSION DON'T SHOW the songs. I can't see the songs of a playlist with 5 songs. With Asus Pad and Galaxy S 2.

Did you try the version posted just above your post?
-
Sorry Matt, same here (Gizmo 17.0.183, downloaded from your page): no tracks within albums.
-
Hello
I have installed the new gizmo version "....183". Now I see a kind of a play list, but it does not work as a playlist. I can see the the songs, but the starting does not really work.
-
Please try downloading again.
The compiler appears to have used stale files making the production release. I apologize.
-
It does not improve the situation for me, unfortunately.
How can I be sure that my Gizmo-3.apk is the file you intend us to get through the link? Version number is still at 17.0.183.
-
Dear Matt
I have installed the "new" version ".. 183" with the result of no improvement

Hi Matt and Jim,
version 17.0.183 is definitely in the Play Store now, but it does not restore album contents for me.
I tested two devices now:
- HTC Legend (Android 2.2)
- HTC Desire S (Android 2.3.5)
Both show the same problem. I even went and uninstalled Gizmo completely (erasing data), then re-installed from the Play Store, to no avail.
Please give it another try!
Oh, and the locale switch still fixes my issue, and so does swapping decimal comma and thousands separator dot within the Netherlands locale...

Hi, the problem was not solved even with the new channel update.

Please download and install 17.0.185 from http://jriver.com/install_gizmo.html
I apologize for the trouble. If that release doesn't fix it, I'm going to get a job pumping gas :'(

Fixed! ;D

The last downloaded version is OK! (at least with Galaxy Tab 7"/2.2 and German version). Thank you all very much!

Well I wish it worked for me.
I have an Asus T300 tablet recently upgraded to Adroid 4.1.1. Thats when Gizmo went haywire.
I reinstalled from the link above (twice) and am using MC 17.0.184.
Gizmo shows no tracks and repeatedly reconnects to the server, often fails.
Help please. This is most frustrating and ruining my whole experience with JR.

Running latest Gizmo on a Toshiba tablet to control MC (18.0.143) to play to the hifi via the USB. When the tablet screen goes off (for battery saving) and I bring it back up, Gizmo sometimes needs to enter the MC access key again (usually when the screen has been off for a bit longer), but then on the Playing Now screen on the tablet there is no tracklist button (it was there before the screen went off). Music still plays, but only 4 control buttons remain above the yellow progress bar. No way to see the tracks. Any ideas? Any further info needed from me?
-
I don't know why it happens, but try pressing and holding the home icon in the upper left corner. That will return you to Playing Now, if it still exists.
-
Of course I tried that some time ago after searching the threads to find another user advised about the long hold feature of the Home button which gets you to the Now Playing screen. If you just tap it, it gets you to Home where you can either tap Playing Now or long hold the Home button to see the Playing Now screen where the track list button is doing a hiding act. Then the only way of seeing the track list is to search for the album again (or another album) and of course then selecting a track shows the track list button, but play is interrupted and you're not where you were.
It's a minor annoyance in an otherwise brilliant application, but with that bug fixed it would be perfect. Incidentally last night my tablet upgraded itself from Honeycomb to Icecream Sandwich and that didn't help.
The issue seems to arise most often after a tablet sleep of some sort when the app. re-enters the access key. After that you want to get to Playing Now to see where you're at. Cover art shows and all seems fine - the yellow progress bar is doing its thing, but that all-important track list button to the left of the other 4 control buttons is nowhere to be seen. It can happen at other times without this sequence too. Turning the tablet off and rebooting gets the button back.
It is an intermittent problem - more readily reproduced when the tablet has been sleeping for a longer period - say 2 or 3 tracks. Not easy to reproduce within the duration of a single short track. In these short instances the tablet comes alive and there is no need to enter the access key again and the button is there.
I wonder if there is a workaround, router setting or something else...
-
Could this thread by changed from "Solved" so it gets some attention?
I am keen to get Gizmo to stop losing the track list button for audio playback during use and have found a half useful workaround, but I think there is a bug somewhere.
The half-useful workaround is to exit out of Gizmo before the tablet goes to sleep. Then clicking the Gizmo icon after waking the tablet, the track list button seems to always be there. It's not great because it's easy to forget to back out of Gizmo every time you look at it.
If the app needs to re-enter the access key (which seems to happen if it was left open before sleeping) then the track list button is never available after pressing Playing Now.
It seems to be a known issue that even when Android is configured so that the wi-fi connection is maintained during sleep, it is lost. There are numerous apps (that don't work) alleging to keep the wifi awake. Perhaps this is related.
When the tablet has power from a wall wart, there is no problem.
Anyway, surely there are thousands of people using Gizmo and I'm not the only one going nuts over this.
Cheers.
