Title: Can't make my smsl xmos-usb DAC work with MC23
Post by: Charlie T. on September 19, 2017, 01:10:57 am
I was given a smsl xmos usb dac for my birthday.  I am trying to set it up but can not make things work.  I have TIDAL and the smsl works fine.  MC 23 never produces sound, but it does see the device in 2 forms (XMOS-XS1 UB MFA ST2 WASAPI & xCore  XB USB Audio Output Direct).  Neither provide sound.
I read several smsl entries with difference models of DAC and older MC version.  I couldn't make out what I am missing.
What do I need to do to make this work with MC23 (32 or 64 bit) with Windows 10 Pro?
Thanks,
Charlie

The wiki has a topic called Audio Setup.  Please start there.

You could use Windows > Control Panel > Sounds to test if Windows sees it.

Other applications should not be set to use Exclusive mode.
