I was doing some (endless) corrections to mis-spelled tags (conductor, composer, etc) using the search wizard.
Because the wizard dialogue is modal, if I make a selection, and hit [apply], I still cannot operate on this selection in the main window without first exiting the wizard with [ok].
Is there a reason for this, or could the dialogue be made non-modal?
regards,
dave

For doing tasks where you are looking for and isolating many different entries you would probably be better served by a custom PANES view. Panes views are amazing. You can select multiple entries in columns to narrow things down. You can combine these with the search box (not the wizard, but just the simple search box). You can do more complex things using Expression columns.
Attached is a screen shot of my "duplicate finder" Panes view. Notice that I have selected several criteria to drill down to what I am looking for. You can make your own custom panes views. Make several. Experiment. They are extremely powerful and very helpful when doing auditing tasks on your library.
Good luck.
