Hi guys. recently swapped my aging htpc (with a NVIDIA 1050ti gpu) for a shiny new mini box thing. Lots more grunt, but obviously has an integrated GPU, in my case Intel Iris XE. My tuning process has reached the stage of wondering why Im not getting HDR output. I've looked back and found a few threads on the subject, including several unanswered questions, but no definitive answer.

So, in simple terms, does MC support HDR output via an Intel Iris XE? If so, how do I configure it? If not, are there any plans to fix the problem.

Thanks

Yes, it did work for Bob. He talked about a possible issue being pre-composed vs. de-composed utf-8 - and that it should have converted when I first ran a new version of MC - but that was now literally years ago. And nothing seems to be converting...  ?  :'(

Here a feature that likely has been proposed before -- permit JRemote to maintain (download) an offline database of a server's library.  Note that I'm looking for offline playback, just offline perusal of the music library.

I've gone through the usual route of exporting the library to an Excel or Google spreadsheet and having that available, such that I can then check whether I have a given album or recording.  (Classical music is usually more the problem.)  The spreadsheet can be awkward to use at times, though (generally because it is both wide and tall).  In contrast, I'm used to finding items I'm after fairly quick with JRemote.

Peeking at the "Main Library" information, my collection of about 1000 popular music CDs and far more classical music than that seems to be 26 MB (or is that MiB?) in size, seemingly easy to handle by a smartphone these days!

I don't disagree.  Maybe these were intended as hidden fields but are being shown erroneously? Hopefully Matt can weigh in to clarify what is going on with these image only genre tags.

Yes, you can set the folder options when ripping, and you can set Folder rules as well as filename rules independently. Give it a try. What do you have to lose?  ;)

I'm guessing that to create something like the dBpoweramp naming examples I quoted earlier, I will have to use JRiver's Expression Language (https://wiki.jriver.com/index.php/Expression_Language. Is that correct?

The audio DSP field when populated with a saved DSP, will switch to that saved named DSP.

It would be nice if the DSP field were a "List (semi-colon delimited)" field and all of the listed DSP's would be applied.

I have so many tracks that need bass management... higher or lower at specified frequencies and some tracks that are so dull they need some high end adjustment.  Sometimes I do these changes with the equalizer and/or the parametric equalizer.

Even with Volume-Leveling... some tracks are OMG louder than others in PlayingNow....  Again, I could have a saved preset to lower volume.

The endless permutations of level changes ... more/less bass... more treble is daunting to manage if each permutation must be saved as an individual saved preset.

If I could have a high-end DSP and multiple bass (more or less) DSP's and a volume lowering DSP and then just combine them as needed, it would be so much easier to manage.

I think genre should behave consistently for all media types and should only offer values that have been previously used.

Can anyone tell me if these are possible in current releases or if they can be added as future enhancements.
  • Saving subtitles to remote locations.  Maybe the option to browse for the remote file if on same intranet or store file to be synced to remote location.
  • When using Get Movie and TV Info, default to always get subtitle. Have ability to set language or file type and best match selected automatically
  • Get subtitles for multiple file Get movie and TV lookups.  Same options as in #2
  • Choose subtitles in JRemote.  I don’t see the open to select subtitles.  Info button only shows playback speed.  Also would like the option to get subtitles if not available

Thanks
