hi guys,
I need some comments on this plugin im making...
http://www.halflifeworld.dk/mcpop.jpg
The idea is that when MC is chanceing to the next song on the playlist it will popup like MSN messenger, showing you the coverart, artist and title...
What do you think???
-
That looks awesome! I will definitely be in line to download it when you release it.
It's stuff like this that's going to help MC shine. It's really the reason why Winamp is doing so well, IMO. They opened it up to outside developers and let the community do their thing. Now look at it.
In the future, you may want to post smaller screenshots, or just post a link to it. The screenshot you just posted was huge! I made it a link for you...

Looks great!!
Anyway to add:
Year
Track #
Bit rate?
Wasn't sure if it had the Artist and Album...or if it was the artist and track..
-
Yes!
Would be great to have such a plugin.
I don't have any ideas at the moment --- except: make it as much configurable as possible (what fields to show, where to show, bla bla bla) ;)
-
Just a very good idea !!
Im waiting to download this !!
-
Fantastic! I'd want it to be only one or two lines of info though:
Title
Artist - Album
So make it configurable and you'll have yourself a winner.
-
Woah - NICE job.
If you could make it so it displayed mini html pages so we could create custom templates like track info pages it'd be INCREDIBLE.
Just thought of that cause I personally wouldn't want to see the cover art.
I like the info WMP shows - Artist, Album, Name - Track Length etc :)
I personally like small discrete informative things, Cover art isn't a biggie for me - for others it would be thou.
Either way - template pages or not though - NICE IDEA and GOOD JOB!! :)

I'd like to make a pitch for XML-esque configurability. It'd be awesome if the plugin produced an XML object that could be transformed with a user-specific XSLT (i.e. totally configurable!) to present just the desired data.
Of course, I've been on an XML kick for the last six months, so maybe I'm starting to see XML solutions where non exist. But it sounds cool to me.
XML and its varied related technologies give the end-user a *ton* of flexibility. As an example, the program FeedDemon (http://www.feeddemon.com) lets the end-user create custom XSLT to present the RSS feed in any manner desired. Sure, RSS is XML to begin with.... but the example remains.

Looks awesome...
Hopefully we can configure where we want it to appear (lower right, lower left, upper right, etc)

Thanks for all the feedback and comments, i will try to make all you wises come true, hehe if i can :)... i think will (soon) have a alpha version ready...

Something interesting to consider is how it will react to Internet streams. A lot of streams update the currently playing track or show. Might want to research how to make your plug-in react to these changes.

Hey again guys,
Im closeing my MC Popup project, i think its better i use my time on some other stuff than try to beat RhinoBangas plugin, he can make it better and faster than me :P so if you have any ideas to a new plugin i can make please message me

Hey man, If you really want to make a plugin I have been itching for something like the Bios plugin from KingSparta, But instead of Bios it would take the Album review from Allmusic.com and put it in a mp3 field.
I also looking for something that would automatically add the correct year to each track. I have a ton of files that do not have a year or have the incorrect year.
So there, I gave you two suggestions.

Could a plugin be made that would allow MC to rip two or more CD tracks as one file? That's the only thing that MC doesn't do that I believe it should. There's a suggestion, if it can be done.
