Title: High volume noise when bitstreaming DSD to external DAC on Mac
Post by: lcfpimentel on April 23, 2017, 07:34:11 pm
I got DSD bitstreaming without problems direct to my Chord Mojo DAC in the last months but suddenly it stopped working. It works fine through windows MC so it is not DAC problem related.

I am running MC 22.0.88 on OS Sierra 10.12.4. It plays converting to PCM but not bitstreaming DSD without convertion. Actually you listen the music very low and a high frequency/high volume noise over the music.

I have already checked the low-pass filter and it is set on (Safe 24khz@48dB/octave).

It also works through DLNA to my Marantz SR7009!!!

I'm not in a position to help you. I have acquired a Mojo and MC ignores it.

I looked for a driver, but the download page confuses me: https://chordelectronics.co.uk/product/mojo/

I cant see any OS X driver there. Surely not the W10 driver they offer?

macOS doesn't need drivers, as long as the DAC supports USB Audio Class 2.0, which most do these days.

Go into MC's Options > Audio section and make sure the Mojo is the selected audio device.
