Title: Custom Fields: To much data = lag

I use both the "Name" field and also several custom name fields. My main custom name field (Name: Base) is the 2nd largest field, first being the "Name" field. Even though the "Name" field contains more data I have no problem editing it in the action window. I click and I can immediately edit. But with my "Name: Base" field I click and wait a few seconds before I'm allowed to start editing. This became very annoying and I found a work around. I created a "Name (TEMP)" field and do my editing there than use the copy/move command to move it to "Name: Base"

I've always wondered why the "Name" field was so fast and I think I know the answer. The "Name" field is an auto-complete field while most of the other fields, defaults and customs, are drop down/select field. It takes a lot more cpu power to create a drop down selection list than it does to auto-complete. Any chance I'm correct?
