Let it run.

It's possible the CD is copy protected.  Not common but possible.

Antivirus can also be a problem.

When ripping a CD the software hung at some percentage and would not respond.  Attempting to end the process using task manager resulted in an access denied message.  Restarting the computer would not fix the problem - I got the message that MC was already running.  I needed a hard reboot (unplug the computer) to get MC to run again.

I upgraded to v32, but the problem persists. It is a specific CD that is problematic (actually there are three today that exhibit this behavior.) I've attached the log file.

Windows 10, 64bit, MC v 32 (just downloaded the latest version)

Try Options > Tree & View > Full Screen (Display View... > Monitor

I was aware of that setting but had assumed that the description of Full Screen (Display View, Theatre View, etc) meant everything would move to the designated monitor. Clearly, I read far more into that "etc" than was really intended. It actually just affects Display View, Theatre View, and Cover View -  but not Standard View or Mini View. It therefore does just what I wanted!

Many thanks for that. It makes Theatre View much more practical for me  :) :) :)

Arconis Cyber Protect HO: 1 Computer (1 year License) incl. 500 GB Cloud Space cost me 89.99€ per year. (40€ per year is the Cloud part)

For me it's ok. The point for me to choose Acronis was that I wanted Cloud from the Backup SW Vendor. If I would have a Synology NAS for Backup, I would backup to Synology C2 Coud.

Maybe it is there already, but I dont know how. I have problems with normally just getting 1 to 3 repeated frames during a movie and sometings a few framedrops, in both hdr and sdr(hdr not activated) and also some very small fluctiatins in measured vsync. earlier it was steady as rock. videoclock or hardware accelarated decoding is not enabled. Have tried them out but same result. From what I have experienced ..is best rendering without using videoclock and hardware accele...enabled. So cpu is more used instead of mostly gpu.
I have used both 531.79 and latest studiodriver 555.85.

Maybe this windows 11 is doing bad updates..bc I never did anything to my pc that should create this problem.

So is there possible to make a feature to check repeated, dropped or glitches not only during but also after the movie is finnished. So I can check it after the movie is over and the osd is gone?

I just noticed that if you view the Playing Now window and right click on a track, the context menu has an option for "Send to recent Playing Now" with a couple dozen options spanning what looks like two weeks or so of Playing Now queues.  This implies that old Playing Now lists are saved somewhere.

Is there a way to load a saved Playing Now list into the current Playing Now queue?

I'm finding that I still can accidentally nuke the current playing now queue with a mis-click.

And the obvious answer, once I see it, is that under Playlists is an option for Recent Playing Nows which lists a couple dozen in semi-chronological order.  Not sure what's up with the sorting (it's by date but the time seems random). But this will work for me.

I've just tried playing one of my videos on an iPad using JRemote. My default subtitle track (flagged with a d in the metadata) was displayed without any problem. However, I've not yet found a way to select other subtitles or to turn them off in this local playback situation.

In contrast, JRemote2 on my Android phone has obvious subtitle controls for local playback, but it looks like JRemote2 is not available for iOS, so you may have to set the default flag for your subtitles.

EDIT:  My reference to a d flag for indicating the default subtitle track relates to a facility in MakeMKV (and MKVToolNix). I've failed to find a way to set that flag in MC, but you can achieve a similar result by using the following settings (which take precedence over any default flag).
Options > Video > Subtitles & Language > Subtitle mode:  Always use subtitles
Options > Video > Subtitles & Language > Default subtitle language: (your choice)

Decided finally to give JRiver a try, don't know why i haven't before but after using Audirvana, Roon on and off for years and thinking i wasn't getting value or totally what i wanted. Here i am with the trial of JRiver MC 32 and so far loving it. Easy to configure and just works.

Though we don't offer it as a backup solution, our Cloudplay server already has most of the functionality needed to serve as one.

If JRiver were to offer backup of images and documents, either as part of MC, or separate from it, what's it worth as an annual service?  $50?
