Title: Audio freez with 30.09.96
Post by: hsbrigitte on September 25, 2023, 08:50:41 am
I encountered a serious problem when running MC on my Windows notebook: sometimes the playback freezes at the end of a song and resumes for a few seconds before starting the next one. The problem occurs roughly once in 20 minutes. I tested it with different audio formats but it has no effect on the error. Please find the log attached.

System configuration:
Intel Core i5 @2.4 GHz
16 GB RAM
Windows 11 Home 64-bit, Version 22H2 (all updates installed before logging on 24-Sep-2023)
Media Center Version 30.09.96 (64-bit)

Third party AV software completely deinstalled
Internet disconneted (WLAN switched off, no LAN)
No ASIO

While running MC I measured the following data:
CPU power total < 5%, MC < 2%
Memory < 30%

Increasing the buffer sizes has no effect.

I just hope that JRiver team can help me to solve this problem!

Try disabling auto-import in settings (search box at the bottom of MC's settings).
Your log shows that your computer is very busy checking for missing files.

Hi Bob, thanks for your quick response. In the meantime I have disabled everything that smells like auto-import:

Tools > Options > Library > Folders > Auto-Import:
 - Run auto import in background (disabled)
 - Run import on empty libraries (disabled)

The 'Settings' menu has no check box as suggested. The last item is:

Tools > Options > Audio > Settings
- Resample uncommon sample rates automatically (cannot be disabled!)

Unfortunately the problem remains.

Do you have the last.fm service enabled for MC?

No, last.fm is disabled.
