Title: Auto Import not Working
Post by: MikeO on October 26, 2017, 01:27:03 am
Hi

My Auto Import config is simple

One folder F:\MusicLibrary, Analyse Audio on import, Lookup cover art , Build Thumbnails , Update for external change

Left alone this rarely if ever runs

If I do Tools>Import> Run Import Manually all works fine

Any Thoughts -- Build 23 / 77

Is F: a local physical drive or a Mapped drive from a share or a NAS?

Hi Spike

Its a 3Tb locally installed HDD . I have a beefy desktop PC (i7 16Gb RAM) with 1 x SSD (all library stuff plus programs) & 3 x HDD (Media Data) which acts as my main working PC and my MC Server

I'd better explain my question now  :)

Personally I've heard of auto import failing on mapped NAS drives more often than local drives. MC seems to normally do a very good job of detecting changes within the watched folder for local drives.

I turned off auto import ages ago and do all my imports manually via a button on the menu bar at the top of the screen (right click in a space to the right of 'Help' to customise it) so I'll let someone else chip in with suggestions to your problem.

Double check your auto-import settings.

Is it this problem?

What is the version of Windows that you use?  Is it 64 bit?

Its 64 Bit Windows 10

Defender disabled for the media drives , there is a 2, 3 & 4 Tb Drive involved

I have had this set up for 3 years at least with no issues.

Other than Windows changes and keeping current with MC there has been little change

I'll read the link in detail when I get a sec

I felt like MC was not picking up some of my new media either as of late, but I didn't get around to investigating it quite yet..

Are there some news about auto import? I have MC23 on my raspberry and the auto import works only if I start it manually. An automatic feature which works only manually is strange. But I see no other solution. But if this is so: how can I start tha auto import remotely from my Mac? Remote Desktop is slow and not wasy to use. Is there some possibilty via terminal and ssh or so?
