Title: PCM2DSD troubleshooting (Vega owners)
Post by: HiFiTubes on April 08, 2014, 10:33:12 pm
I know we have more than one owner here, so I'm curious what setting you folks are using and your experience with PCM2DSD with the Auralic Vega.

Running EXACT clock with Reliable/8192 USB settings.

1 second hardware sync enabled, and memory play off (though I could turn it on as all my high-res is on local disk vs. NAS).

JMARK score: 4928

I have no issues playing in my main zone using DSD/352kHz for PCM even doing DSD128 files.

When I use PCM2DSD, I often get the sync loss which manifest as stretches of white noise, but also getting some dropouts.
The DAC will stay locked at DSD128, but white noise erupts. There is no flashing display on the Vega indicating a loss of sync, but the DoP stream just seems corrupt.

Just switched to Safe Mode in USB, same issue. Starting here:

EDIT - just ticked large hardware buffers and seems to be more more stable (even using Standard USB mode).

Try increasing buffering in Options > Audio > Device settings...

Thanks Matt, I have tweaked every setting I know of, including the USB control panel for the Auralic.

Does anyone know any other apps that do PCM2DSD I could use to test?
