Title: How to remove a drive from MC library.
Post by: bugeyed on September 29, 2021, 05:22:18 pm
I have my music on drive E: & a backup on external drive F:. Somehow MC 24 has included both drives in the library, so I have a bunch of duplicate files in each folder. Can I remove drive F form MC so it doesn't import files from it?
Thanks,
Kev

Set up auto import.

Then backup from the File Menu.

Then search for F: and double check that the files you want to remove are displayed.  Then delete them.  Read carefully.  Try a few before you do many.

Thanks for responding. How is it that MC included files on drive F in  the library? I want to make sure it only accesses drive E.

See what Auto Import is set to, if anything.

The wiki has information that could help.

I keep my Pop/Rock/Jazz on one hard disk and the Classical on another HD.  I also have two libraries which is different from your setup, I believe, one for each hard disk.  However, I do not have "auto import" selected.  When I want to include new music in the library I go to TOOLS> IMPORT> SELECT> IMPORT A SINGLE FOLDER.    Only the new music files on the HD I select are imported.
