i go to play a video (tried several different formats) it had been working for months suddenly i get that error message...

That is a Windows error message. Of course, MC may be doing something that triggers the Windows error, but yes, it looks like you are the only one. That does make you special.

A quick Google shows that there is probably something wrong with Windows Update on your PC. Reboot the PC, wait a couple of minutes, then run Windows Update, then reboot and wait a couple of minutes. Try again. Did it work?

If not, specify everything about your PC and MC.
Specific version: i.e. MC23.0.104 32/64bit?
Specific Windows Version: i.e. Windows 10 Pro/Home, Version 10.0.16299 Build 16299
Using ROHQ or RO Std? Any plug-ins?
Hardware: Processor, memory, graphics card, graphics driver, audio card/motherboard, audio output method, audio driver....

Have you altered the madVR version? LAV? Changed any settings in madVR?

Bottom line, that error message isn't a MC error, and as no one else has reported it, you have some issue with Windows on your PC. You need to fix Windows.
