Title: iPod nano cannot be properly identified
Post by: branty1970 on January 18, 2014, 10:30:51 am
Hi,  I just got back from the store with a brand new iPod nano (model A1446) and when I plug it into my PC MC19 says

Your iPod could not be properly identified.
Please check for an updated version of Media Center.
iPod type: 'DCYLT0HLF4LP', '', 1452, 4711

iTunes recognises it no problem so I think the iPod is OK. I'm on the latest version of MC19 - 19.0.67

What's wrong? Any suggestions would be great - I really want to get my music on my new gadget and I don't want to use iTunes!!

Thanks,
Martin.

I wanted to buy a IPod, but I guess it may not be working with MC.

There maybe better mp3 players out there, just not sure what to buy. I want something small like the nano but with allot of memory.

Sony makes small, inexpensive players.  Any Android phone should also work.

Hello Martin

I'm not a friend of itunes, I know also that there are mp3 player such as sand on the sea.

I bought an ipod touch because ipods are the only ones which support the play states.
For me this is an absolute must, because I hear often on the road more music than at home.

To syncronisation I use MCItunessyncronizer and itunes. So that I can live very well and it works absolutely perfectly.
