Title: JRemote, headphone DAC/amp + iPhone: Bluetooth versus Mfi cable
Post by: shAf on September 09, 2021, 08:22:53 am
I use a Soundblaster E5 DAC/Amp between my iPhone and studio headcans to listen to 24bit audio as provided by JRemote app connected to the MC server. JRemote is configured for no transcoding.

Relative to the E5’s DAC being used for optimal playback, is there any difference between using a hard connection (MFi cable) or simply connecting via Bluetooth? That is, if Bluetooth I’m concerned the E5 might assume an analog audio signal and bypass the DAC all together(?)

I’d like to believe JRemote, configuered for not transcoding, simply bitstreams the 24bit data regardless of hard connected or Bluetooth(?)

TIA :)
