Using MC 20s media network & DLNA to send audio files from pc to PSAudio DS DAC via PSAs network bridge (#1). I will be getting the updated Bridge II soon. The main problem I have at the moment is slow load time (up to 12 secs) for dsf (DoPE ) files. flac files are good, its only dsf when DoPe is used.
I got onto PSA & they said Bridge II may load dsf files quicker but the problem is more likely be due to MC.
So, who ever is to blame, I would like to see dsf files (as DoPE files) load and play as fast as flac does.
any comments? ?

If you're converting files on the fly, you would expect the bigger files to take longer.

Thanks Jim...I don't really understand. I am using JR20s Media Network rather than direct to my DAC. I cant see an option there to turn play from memory on or off.
Sorry for my ignorance, but can you give more detail...thanks
Exactly what do you mean by convert on the fly?

Those files are very big. You may just be experiencing the limit of your network.
Are you playing files from a local drive or a USB drive or NAS?

I can either play from my E-drive or a WD my Book Live, which has DLNA support. They both take the same amount of time to load and play.

If it is a MC problem and there is a fix to make DoPE files load quicker, I would be ever so happy. Most of these dsf files I bought from Acoustic Sounds. In general, they are the best sounding digital audio file I have yet experienced. If its possible to quicken up the load time....

Do you have "Bitstream DSD (requires DoPE compliant renderer)" checked in the DLNA server options window? Also make sure your DAC is paired with the DLNA profile that has this option checked (if you have multiple DLNA profiles).
With this checked, it *should* take about the same time to transfer DSD vs. FLAC, unless your DSD files are significantly larger than the FLAC files.

Thanks all ;D
