Title: Logitech Harmony + Flirc + JRiver MC
Post by: sangpeiris on February 14, 2018, 04:52:03 pm
Hi,

Does anyone have the steps to making the JRiver MC work with Logitech Harmony and Flirc?

Thanks,

MC works out of the box with no IR Command learning required with an MCE remote.

If you set up the Harmony to emulate an MCE remote, preferably the SE version, or the standard MCE plus the SE as I use, all the basic IR controls work. See the Harmony instructions and setup software.

Adding a FLIRC in the middle is supposed to make things a lot easier. See the FLIRC site for instructions. I believe they have some good guides.

To help, see the MC Command Line, MC Core Commands, and Expression Language info, here: https://wiki.jriver.com/index.php/DevZone

Thank-you, this is helpful.  Would this work with Win 10 as well given Win 10 doesn't support MCE or do I have to use Win 7?

Yes, it works in Windows 10, which is what I use on all my PCs now.

Of course, you need to have an IR receiver and its drivers installed. I use an Inteset receiver and it works fine. I haven't used a FLIRC but I believe it will do all my Inteset will do and much more.

Thanks for the guidance.  I've got the Flirc installed and working for most functions like left, right, up, down and ok.   but the Skip Track/Next and Previous Track/Previous buttons are not working.  When I press those buttons on the logitech harmony remote, i just get an "f" displayed for the Next button.

How do i fix this problem?

Flirc has a learning mode.  You should be able to teach it what you want.
