In JRemote, in the Navigation Drawer (Swipe from left edge to the right to open), there is a zone selector at the very bottom (the bullseye), when you select that, select the option "This device", which is the local zone of the phone.
Thank you for your reply Hendrik, unfortunately, "This Device" isn't there. When i open the menu with the bullseye, i see this:

When i select the icon on the right of the phone icon (barely visible), i only get a list with my PC's audio hardware.
Whenever i start a song, it starts to play on my PC.
I tried uninstalling and re-installing. And also tried uninstalling Gizmo and JRemote, and then just re-installing JRemote. Just in case there was a conflict with the two, but no result.

Any suggestions on this?

Any suggestions on this?
For some reason it fails to get a list of zones from your MC.
Can you run this in a web browser and send me the result?
http://<IP of MC>:52199/MCWS/v1/Playback/Zones
Insert the IP of your MC server into the URL, open it in a browser, and paste the result to eg. pastebin.com and then link that here?

Where can i find this specific IP? Sorry, not too much experience with that...

Could also be the name of the system you are running MC on, as its shown in the Network area in Windows.
Otherwise, you can check in JRemote actually, use "My servers" in the menu, click "Edit" next to the entry for the MC server, and it should show the IP somewhere in the middle of the list.

Ok thanks, this is what i get:
This XML file does not appear to have any style information associated with it. The document tree is shown below.
<Response Status="OK">

0

0

0

</Response>

Weird, why would MC not report any zones? I'll have to look at MC code a bit..
How does your zone setup look in MC?
-
Well, my setup is like this:
- I have my PC, with MC, and here i play my music most of the time
- I have a Raumfeld Connector, which streams music to my stereo
- And i have my phone (LG G2) which i use to listen to music on my earbuds
When using Gizmo, i don't have to setup any zones, it just gave me the option to play music 'Here' or on 'Raumfeld'.
So Gizmo seems based on device, rather than zone.
When i right-click the Media Server icon in my taskbar, i can select Raumfeld, so MC does see this.
-
Ok, now that i have my Raumfeld Connector active, i can suddenly also see 'This Device' in JRemote.
Gonna test what happens when i switch it off.
Update: when i switch the Raumfeld Connector off, the 'This Device' also disappears from the Zones again.
So, it seems my phone is only available as a playing device when another streaming device is active within the network. Seems a bit strange to me.

Did you disable or hide the primary local zone in MC?

That seems to solve the problem! The 'Player' was hidden indeed. When i clicked 'Show', it's visible in my JRemote, together with 'This Device'!
Can't remember hiding it though.
Thank you so much for your time! :)

Its an odd problem, but I should probably make JRemote just default to on-device playback if no zones are present in MC (for whatever reason)
-
That's probably a good idea!
Again, thank you for the fast replies and solution! :)
