I'm very happy to say that Robert Ryan, author of JRemote (http://www.jremote.net), will be working at JRiver in about a month. As many know, he is an extremely talented developer, and listens well to those who use his software. That's what we'd like to think JRiver also does well.
JRemote will continue on its successful course. We're still talking about details, but my hope is that it will move closer to Media Center.
We're trying to arrange a visit for Robert in June, when Hendrik will be here, and probably Yaobing as well. With Matt returning, and Adam (JohnT's son), we will have a very full house.
Welcome aboard, Robert. And thank you for your confidence in JRiver.

Great News, congratulations to all parties. Hope for acceleration of features of JRemote.
-
Excellent news... the team at JR continues to strengthen!
-
Thumbs Up !
( I almost bought a Les Paul gold top once for $600... of course, regretting not doing so, lol. )
-
Congratulations to both!
-
Excellent news, I couldn't imagine using mc without JRemote, I'm looking forward what he brings to mc, I'm sure it will be amazing. Congrats Lespaul, and Congrats J River :)
-
Congratulations!
Hopefully this will lead to tighter video integration, as audio is already handled (mostly) very nicely by JRemote.
-
Very heads up move because the remote application is a MAJOR part of the experience in using JRiver and you want to control that. Apple realized the same thing.
Looking forward to additional features like controlling EQ remotely from my iOS devices.
-
VERY good move JRiver. Good talent is hard to find.

I'm sure that Robert's recruitment will lead to some interesting developments. As a user of both MC and JRemote, I welcome this new partnership!

Nah. Keep it clean. Robust and reliable. No need for anything other than playing the music.

Thanks guys,
I am honored to soon be a part of the JRiver team.
As you know, JRemote has been a hobby project for me all this time. It has been a lot of work doing this after my regular job, while also having a 3 year old boy that I want to spend as much time as possible with.
I think it`s fair to say that I alone would not be able to fully support JRemote on multiple platforms.
With the help of JRiver and me being able to work full time on these projects, I am confident that you will soon see more rapid release cycles, tighter integration with JRiver and further expansion to other platforms.

It would be good if you can strive for a common look and feel across JRemote, TheaterView and Gizmo. Today all of these apps came from different corners, and each has many good features, (and some bad ones), but they all work a little bit different. Just one example: in JRemote you have a great feature to drill down on a tag of the now playing track which I would love to see in TheaterView and Gizmo).
-
Also, JRemote is a better name than Gizmo. Just saying.

Plus I'd personally love to see and Android version of JRemote!
I have 1 iPad and about 10 other android phones/tablets in the house.
I happily paid for JRemote and I would happily pay for JRemote Android!

Excellent news! Looking forward to the new JRemote release.

How about GizMote?

This is great news! Congratulations, Robert, for your new job.
JRiver MC will crush down all other media players, with such a good team.
-
I would be great to have an Android version of JRemote. ;D I had JRemote some time ago, but no longer use any iDevices.

a little late for a reply, but this is great! :)

I'm also VERY excited about this too! :)

Good news indeed. Hopefully this will strengthen the remote and touch capabilities for multiple devices. Not only iOS devices :)

Robert Ryan, aka LesPaul, arrived in Minneapolis last night.
Here's a picture of Robert, on the left, with Hendrik, in front of our building.

Love the building in background. Good depiction of American pride, from the scripted mortar, to a time castings were a viable landscape of US labor. Best to the new tenets, never forget the sweat that was once within your confines.
-
it's probably a former superfund site.
-
The building was a working foundry when I bought it in 1979.

Sweet, happy to hear that Mr. Ryan wwill be joining the team.
I'm really hoping a better remote on the windows platform (phone and tablet)! ;D
-
Great news. Robert is great. He takes care of every single email and request. and always tries to find a good solution - for everyone.
JRemote is my most important app and the main reason why I own an iPad. Whould be a desaster, when Robert would not update the app to the newest iOS version.
Congrats!!!

Totally cool !! ;D
