Title: Video playback
Post by: BryanC on August 11, 2015, 12:28:39 pm
I'm having issues bringing up the OSD during full-screen video playback. It will flash on for a second and then disappear.

Also, what video player is MC using by default these days? It seems like most of the functionality of the Windows player could be easily implemented in mpv after all of its recent heavy development. It has Jinc now, smooth motion, videoclock, hardware acceleration + opengl, etc, etc. Linux could have its own Red October versus Red October HQ setup.

For example, a good VideoClockesque script: https://github.com/haasn/gentoo-conf/blob/nanodesu/home/nand/.mpv/scripts/avail/fpsadjust.lua

It just seems like we could be getting better playback right now with very little work on the part of the devs if mpv was fully embraced.

We use our own player, and there are no plans to change.
