Title: Drives & devices does not show external USB drive

when I connect an external drive or memory stick, MC17 does not show the drive in "drives & devices. Windows explorer with MC17 however does recognize the drive.
I recently changed to a new PC with W8
I found the same question on the forum (from november last year), but did not find an answer

Does it show up as a handheld device in MC?
