Title: Rpi3 arm-build: multichannel audio
Post by: Mikkel on August 23, 2017, 02:20:55 pm
Hello,

I am struggling with a couple of issues with the rpi build of jriver. I cannot get following to work via hdmi:
- Bitrates above 16 bit
- Sample rates above 48 khz
- Multichannel pcm

Disclaimer: this is using an mc21 master license.

Are the above issues resolved in later versions of jriver? I did take note of anotherthread where steps were taken to resolve the problems. It is not clear to me if a solution was found.

Best regards,
Mikkel

The built in audio devices on the RPi3 don't support sample rates higher than 48k.
You need to use DSP studio in those instances to handle other sample rates.

24 bit audio plays fine.

The HDMI port does NOT support mutichannel PCM. This is a limitation of the RPi3 hardware.
