Title: ATI All in WOnder 9800 SE - can't search for channels
Post by: Mastiff on May 10, 2005, 01:09:04 pm
When I go into TV Tuner options I get asked to select country and input type. But the country list is empty. If I write something, I get told: "Please choose a country from the list." Without a list... I need to kill MC with the task manager to get rid of the window. Is this a known bug? Latest 11 Beta, ATI AIW 9800 SE, ATI MMC 9.

I just checked.  It's working for me.  I get a long list of countries.

I have an NTSC ATI AIW card.  Yours should be PAL.

Try re-installing and rebooting.

I have done several re-installs, both of drivers and ATI MMC. But I will see if it helps when I install the latest beta you guys just posted. Then I might uninstall MC and re-install, but that takes a few hours because of all the settings. Which is why I was hoping to get around it without going that far.

Nope. Didn't help. Can this be because I had a WinTV FM in that computer, uninstalled and removed that and then put in the ATI?

What version of DirectX do you have?

Do a search on this forum for "DirectX 9 hotfix", you will find a link to Microsoft for a hotfix for DirectX 9.0b. If you have DirectX 9.0b, you can either upgrade it, or install the hotfix.

Thank you very much! That was it!  ;D Slightly embarassing, since I even had that hotfix in my file archive, from when I first installed that card in a computer, since it fixed a sound problem with ATI MMC when resuming from hibernation. I just didn't know that this was related to that...  :-[

Many people have had the same problem.
